Teen Gathering Place

The Teen Gathering Place offers youth, ages 12 & up, a safe place to gather with friends on  Friday nights, 6:00-9:00pm. The program is run by Executive Director, Laura Mathis and responsible volunteers. They keep a watchful eye on the teens as they enjoy various activities available to them. To insure the teens have a clean and safe place to hang out, there is a set of rules that we ask the teens to abide by. Our objective is to provide teens with a safe and comfortable place to gather with friends, something we find is a great need in our county.

There is a snack bar available where the teens can purchase pizza, snacks, and drinks. Because the program is sponsored by the Davie United Way, admission is FREE. Parents need to simply come in and register teens the first time they visit. Once registered, the teen will only have to sign-in upon arrival. For more information about the program, you may contact Executive Director, Laura Mathis at (336) 998-2912.

Inside, teens can enjoy playing video games on the Wii or Playstation2,  surfing the web in the Media Room, or playing a game of pool, ping-pong, or basketball in our spacious gym.

Hang Out with Friends

Our Teen Center offers teens activities outdoors as well as indoors. They can play tennis, badminton, volley ball, or a game of football. Mostly, teens just enjoy hanging out and making new friends.

A Place to Be Yourself

Picture

The Teen Gathering Place is a place where teens can just be themselves and get away from all the pressures of school and other stressful activities. Teens who are homeschooled as well as public/private schooled can come together and have fun. In addition to activities, we work to provide encouragement and support for teens during this important time in their lives.

Teen Gathering Registration Form

Upon your first visit, we ask that parents come in and fill out a Registration Form on each teen. This provides the center with information in case of an emergency and any special circumstances that need to be noted. The Registration Form may be conveniently downloaded and printed ahead of time below or will be available to fill out at the Teen Gathering Place.
